Meet the Leadership Team

Susan is our Chief of Staff and serves as executive sponsor to the Womxn's Network, one of our employee resource groups. She is responsible for Corporate Strategic Planning, OKRs, and Leadership Offsites ensuring our Leadership Team and the organization operate efficiently and effectively. Prior to Ontra, Susan was the Product & Engineering Chief of Staff at Zuora and led the Technical Program Management and Quality Engineering departments at Zappos. Susan holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of San Diego. Based in Las Vegas, Susan spends her time running, playing soccer, doing puzzles, and driving her kids around to various school functions and soccer practices.

Elizabeth is our Vice President of Talent Strategy and Acquisition. She is responsible for the recruitment of all Ontra employees globally and also oversees the organization's talent management and development strategies to ensure alignment with the company's culture while driving sustainable growth. Prior to Ontra, Elizabeth held several roles in talent acquisition, including as a legal recruiter for Paul Hastings and Sidley Austin. Elizabeth holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Based in Seattle, Elizabeth enjoys going to local breweries with her husband, daughter, and two black labs.

Jeff is our Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for leading Customer Success, Business Operations, People, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Investor Relations. Jeff was previously Chief Financial Officer and, in that role, helped lead Ontra’s Series A investment with Battery Ventures and Series B investment with Blackstone Growth. Prior to Ontra, Jeff spent 13 years as a private equity investor at H.I.G. Capital, most recently as a Managing Director in the San Francisco office. Earlier, Jeff worked in technology investment banking at J.P. Morgan and product management at Salesforce.com. Jeff holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School as well as a B.S. in Business and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Based in San Francisco, Jeff enjoys skiing, running, mountain biking, live music, photography, and spending time with his wife and two boys. Jeff is also active in the community, serving most recently as a Board Member and Treasurer for Youth Leadership Institute, a California-based youth development organization.

Charlotte is our VP of Product. She is responsible for leading our Ontra Atlas, Ontra Synapse AI, and Common Services product teams. Charlotte was previously VP of Product at AppFolio where she established the Platform and Common Services teams and was the product lead for the Property Manager Plus product including the expansion of the product line to serve upmarket firms. Charlotte holds an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and a B.S. in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Based in Santa Barbara, Charlotte enjoys reading, and spending time at the beach, pool, and in the kitchen with her family.

Miles is our Vice President and General Manager of Insight. He is responsible for driving the strategic direction, product development, and operational excellence within Ontra’s Insight business. Miles was previously a Managing Director in our Contract Automation business. Prior to Ontra, Miles practiced corporate and securities law at Weil Gotshal in London and Simpson Thacher in New York. Miles is an active mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters, Los Angeles (BBBSLA). Miles holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. Based in Los Angeles, Miles enjoys surfing, skiing, and playing the guitar.

Sayre is our Vice President of Strategy. He is responsible for managing the pricing and profitability of our core business lines, creating and managing our go-to-market offerings, developing new business lines, and special projects. Prior to Ontra, Sayre worked on the investment teams of several hedge funds. Sayre holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. from Pomona College. Based in Dallas, Sayre enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and reading science fiction novels.

Bridget is our Vice President of Customer Success for Contract Automation. She joined Ontra in 2018 to launch our business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, which she is now responsible for leading, in addition to leading our Contract Automation Customer Success team. Prior to Ontra, Bridget practiced corporate law at Kirkland & Ellis and Cravath. Bridget holds a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from Yale University. Based in London, Bridget enjoys cooking, arts and crafts, and country walks with her family and their dog.

Joe is our Vice President of Business Operations and Strategy. He is responsible for driving strategic and operational alignment across our go-to-market functions to maximize efficiency, transparency, and profitability. Prior to Ontra, Joe held a series of operations and strategy roles at Thomson Reuters and Redbox and also practiced commercial litigation at Kirkland & Ellis. Joe holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.S. in Computer Science from Yale University. Based in Minneapolis, Joe enjoys playing softball, exploring new board games, and cheering on his two kids at sporting events.

Sara is our Vice President of Product Operations and serves as executive sponsor to AKA (All Kinds of Asians), one of our employee resource groups. She ensures that all of Ontra’s product offerings deliver exceptional value through their unique combination of top legal talent and technology. Prior to Ontra, Sara managed attorney recruiting and professional development at Paul Hastings. Sara holds an M.A. in Organizational Communication & Development from Emerson College and a B.A. from California State University, Fullerton. Based in San Francisco, Sara enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and taking her dogs to the beach.

Frank is our Vice President and General Manager of Contract Automation and the executive sponsor of Ontra’s Ontrainbow employee resource group. He is responsible for driving strategic direction, product development, and operational excellence within Ontra’s Contract Automation business. Frank was previously our Vice President of Account Management. Prior to Ontra, Frank practiced corporate real estate law at Simpson Thacher. He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.B.A. in Finance from Emory University. Based in Rye, New York, Frank is a passionate sports fan and enjoys traveling with his wife and two children.

Megan is our Chief People Officer and the executive sponsor of Ontra’s DEI Council. She is responsible for unlocking Ontra’s growth by creating an ecosystem where talented people can do their best work. Prior to Ontra, Megan was the Chief People and Culture Officer at Smartsheet and also served in leadership roles at MOD Pizza, Outerwall, and Frog Design. Megan holds an M.S. in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a B.S. in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Based in Seattle, Megan enjoys many adrenaline-inducing activities, including skiing, climbing mountains, ziplining, and cheering on her daughters from the sidelines of the volleyball court.

Michael is our Senior Vice President of Revenue Operations. He is responsible for revenue operations, GTM strategy and enablement, and business development. Prior to Ontra, Michael has been in revenue operations and business development leadership roles for the last 15 years and has driven growth efficiency at several companies spanning software, legal and information technology including Tealium, Axiom Law and Hewlett-Packard. Michael received a B.A. of Economics from Yale University and his M.B.A. from Duke’s Fuqua Business School. Based in Minneapolis, Michael spends his time outside of work hiking, fishing, playing sports and coaching his two sons in youth sports.

Eric is our Chief Technology Officer. He leads all technical functions at the company including software development, AI, quality, infrastructure, security, and IT. Eric has over 20 years of engineering leadership experience at technology companies, from startup to growth stage to publicly traded. Prior to Ontra, Eric served as Vice President of Engineering at AppFolio, where he spent 10 years leading engineering for many of AppFolio’s most significant efforts, including mobile, embedded payments, and AI. Ultimately at AppFolio he led engineering for the Investment Management business unit, developing a platform for private equity real estate sponsors to manage their entire business. Eric holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. Based in Santa Barbara, Eric is an avid cyclist and skier, and he enjoys spending time in nature with his wife and two daughters.

Milind is our Vice President of Product Marketing and Content. He is responsible for leading our Product Marketing and Content functions, driving the strategies that support our continued growth with both new and existing customers. Prior to Ontra, Milind served as Vice President of Product Marketing at C2FO, where he led a global team that launched and scaled new products and built new, effective go-to-market capabilities. Milind has spent the last decade working as a marketing leader in fintech at companies such as SoFi and Intuit. Milind holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Milind enjoys reading, hiking with his wife and 8-month old son, playing soccer and supporting Arsenal FC.

Brian is our Chief Revenue Officer and the executive sponsor of the Parents-at-Ontra employee resource group. He is responsible for new customer acquisition, growing revenue with our existing customers, partnerships, and revenue operations. Brian was previously our VP of Sales. Prior to Ontra, Brian served as VP and Counsel at Jefferies and practiced corporate law at Simpson Thacher. Brian holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Yale University. Based in New York, Brian enjoys reading, spending time with his family and friends, and anything having to do with University of Florida athletics.

Nat is our Chief Product Officer. Nat is responsible for driving our Legal Operating System product strategy, including our Contract Automation, Insight, and Ontra Atlas product suite. In addition, he manages our Strategy and Legal Network teams while overseeing Ontra Synapse, our private markets AI technology. Prior to joining Ontra, Nat spent 14 years at AppFolio, where he led the product organization and served as General Manager and Division CEO of the Investment Management business unit. In these capacities, he was instrumental in growing revenue from $0 to $550M, expanding AppFolio’s customer base to over 20,000 firms, and taking the company public. Nat sits on the board of directors for the UCSB Alumni Association and is a Forbes Business Council member. Nat holds an M.B.A. from Arizona State University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Based in Santa Barbara, Nat enjoys skiing and stand-up paddle boarding with his wife and three children.

Ben is our Co-Founder. Ben serves as executive sponsor to Blontra (one of our employee resource groups) and Ontra’s Legal Aid Alliance program. Previously, Ben served as our Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Ontra, Ben practiced corporate law at Kirkland & Ellis and taught English-as-a-Second-Language at Belmont-Cragin in Chicago. Ben holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Yale University. Based in Santa Barbara, Ben enjoys skiing, hiking, running, and spending time with his wife and three kids.

John is our Senior Vice President of Customer Success. He is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Customer Success function, driving product adoption, and ensuring positive business outcomes for our customers. Prior to Ontra, John served as the VP of Customer Success at Litera, a global leading provider of workflow and data management solutions for law firms and legal providers. John has spent the last 25 years working as a cross-functional leader of Customer Success, Sales, Services, and Operations within the tech industry at companies such as Thomson Reuters HighQ and Lexmark. John holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, John enjoys skiing, hiking, running, coaching soccer, poorly playing music in the garage, and spending as much time as possible with his wife and three daughters.

Andy is our Vice President of Finance & Accounting. He is responsible for Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Sourcing & Procurement. Prior to Ontra, Andy worked in commercial banking at JPMorgan Chase and served as an Infantry officer and Ranger in the U.S. Army where he deployed to Afghanistan as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Andy holds an M.B.A from the University of Southern California and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Based in Houston, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife at her pub, boating, and baseball.

Kaylin is our Senior Vice President of Growth Marketing. She is responsible for leading our Growth Marketing initiatives, driving the strategies that enhance customer acquisition and engagement while supporting our overall business growth. Prior to Ontra, Kaylin served as Vice President of Marketing at AppFolio, where she successfully generated new ARR and optimized performance across various marketing channels. Kaylin has over 15 years of experience as a marketing leader in the SaaS sector, having held senior leadership roles at companies such as Invoca and Citrix. She holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, as well as a B.A. in Business Economics and Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Based in Santa Barbara, Kaylin enjoys exploring the city’s vibrant community with her husband and two daughters.

Leslie is our Chief Marketing Officer. She is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of all our Marketing functions including demand gen, growth marketing, content, brand, communications, and product marketing. Prior to Ontra, Leslie was the global Chief Marketing Officer at C2FO, a leading on-demand working capital platform. Leslie has spent over 20 years in B2B marketing and general management in high-growth fintech and SaaS companies, delivering profitable growth and cost savings through innovative GTM strategies and leading high-performing, global teams. Leslie holds a B.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Washington. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, in her free time, Leslie enjoys hiking, walking, running, skiing, gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and three kids.

Troy is our Founder and Chief Executive Officer. He has led the company from inception to becoming the market-leading provider of contract automation and intelligence to the private markets. Ontra now has over 350 employees, offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, and investors such as Blackstone and Battery Ventures. Prior to Ontra, Troy worked in private equity investing at H.I.G. Capital, where he made majority buyout investments in middle-market companies in financial technology and logistics. Earlier, he worked in management consulting at Monitor Deloitte, where he focused on M&A due diligence and integration. Troy is an active mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters, Los Angeles (BBBSLA). Troy holds a B.A. from New York University. Based in Los Angeles, Troy enjoys sailing, biking, reading, and spending time with his wife and two kids.

Luke is our General Counsel. He is responsible for leading Ontra’s legal team in its mission to increase and protect Ontra’s value by providing creative, actionable, solution-oriented advice on legal, compliance, risk, operational, and strategic matters throughout the company. Prior to Ontra, Luke was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis focused on commercial, antitrust, and bankruptcy litigation and regulatory investigations for public and private companies, including many private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to federal appellate and trial court judges in Chicago. Luke also has experience mowing lawns, operating forklifts, and grilling burgers at the world’s largest restaurant chain. He currently serves on the Legal Services Corporation’s Emerging Leaders Council. Luke holds a J.D. from DePaul University and a B.A. from Taylor University. Based in Chicago, Luke enjoys biking, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.

Randi Lynn is our Vice President of Sales. She is responsible for leading Ontra’s Revenue organization in its mission to expand our customer base and support the growth of existing customers. Prior to Ontra, Randi Lynn practiced corporate law as an associate at Simpson Thacher. Randi Lynn holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from The College of New Jersey. Based in New York, Randi Lynn enjoys baking banana bread, reading, and hiking and boating with her husband, son, and pup.

Paul Morrissey is a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone Growth. Paul is based in London and leads Blackstone Growth in Europe.   Prior to joining Blackstone in 2021, Paul was a partner at Battery Ventures, focusing on later-stage growth equity investments. From 2012 to 2016, Paul was based in Battery’s San Francisco office before moving to London in 2016 to open Battery’s presence in Europe. At Battery Ventures, Paul was involved in Battery portfolio companies including Guardsquare, InCloudCounsel, PageUp, PrimeRevenue, Quinyx, Shippeo, Intacct (acquired by Sage), WebPT (acquired by Warburg Pincus), Gainsight (acquired by Vista Equity Partners) and Nitro (ASX:NTO). Prior to Battery, Paul spent time with Goldman Sachs’ investment-banking division focusing on the technology, media and telecom sectors.   Paul graduated from Stanford University, where he earned a BS in economics and played four years on the varsity men’s tennis team.

Mike is the co-founder of Assurance IQ, a company that makes buying insurance easier for everyone. Before launching Assurance, he was the founding president of Addepar, where he patented technology that models and reports on more than $1.3 trillion in financial assets that the company handles. Then, as a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, he focused on insuretech investments for the $7.5 billion venture capital leader.   He has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford. He is a father of two.

Chelsea focuses on investments in the software and healthcare-IT sectors. She is particularly interested in vertically focused SaaS companies. Chelsea serves on the boards of ContinuumCloud, Curve Dental, Maxio, Ontra (formerly InCloudCounsel), PageUp and Redox, and she is an investor in Honeybook. Her previous investments include Avalara (NYSE: AVLR), Brightree (acquired by ResMed), ClearCare (acquired by Wellsky), Data Innovations (acquired by Roper Industries), Glassdoor (acquired by Recruit Holdings), Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN), Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE), Intacct (acquired by Sage), Marketo (NASDAQ: MKTO, acquired by Vista Equity Partners), RealPage (NASDAQ: RP) and WebPT (acquired by Warburg Pincus).   In 2013, Chelsea was named to the Forbes Midas “Hot Prospects” list of up-and-coming venture capitalists, and in 2018 she was included on Business Insider’s 23 Top Venture Capitalists in Enterprise Tech list.   Prior to Battery, she was an associate at the private equity firm Key Principal Partners. Earlier in her career, Chelsea was a manager at Accenture, where she led technology and strategy projects. She also has held positions with Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong and with Classified Ventures. She received a BS with honors in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She also currently sits on the Northwestern University Engineering School Board. Currently Chelsea serves on the Healthcare Technology Advisory Council for the Cleveland Clinic.
